Chobra LOGO

William Cho, also known as Chobra within the gaming industry, is a veteran esports producer and talent. After his relocation to South Korea, William decided to get back to game streaming using Twitch. With the need for a personalized brand for streaming, he reached out and requested a logo that could represent his vision, personality, and streaming style.

Challenge

During the intake meeting, William shared that his vision is to create accessible and positive game entertainment for his targeted/intended streaming audience with the age range of 11-24. He wanted a logo to be reflective of the vision. Identified keywords for his brand personality included approachable, conversational, and educational.

Mood board

The mood board was created based on the above keywords and other inspirations from the meeting.

During my brainstorming session, I sketched out various visual elements such as a gaming headset, console, play button, and more. Unfortunately, they felt way too generic and unoriginal. I went back through my meeting notes, ideas, and everything else to see if I missed something. There, I was reminded that William himself is the very representation of the keywords selected for the brand personality. This inspired me to create a logo with the characterized version of William.
